Highlights from the April 4 Council meeting include approval of a recommendation from the School Site Land Acquisition Community Working Group to consider the former St. Peter’s Catholic School property for future acquisitions by the City, Council also approved a zoning by-law change to allow for a new affordable housing development on the former St. Joseph/St. Mary Catholic School site, located at 671 Brock Street. Council also passed a motion asking the Provincial government to consider additional safety measures or restrictions on the transportation of hazardous materials during sever weather (see new motion 1, page 9)
